Father's & Sons Campout

The annual Father's & Son's Campout was at Firestone again this year. Jay opened the campfire.
Rick & Peter did a great job with the entertainment. Solos and sing-a-longs.

Of course, there was plenty of junk and sugar just before bed. Dozen's of donuts, 3 dutchoven cobblers, with milk (chocolate optional).
We had several visitors to camp. Much too tame.

The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Rick (Iceman) has started his oven kitchen. Traditionally, it was pancakes. This year it was French Toast, pancakes, hash browns, and eggs (made to order). He can't be out done.

After breakfast, we had games. Tug of war and egg toss.
Jarrod was in charge of organizing the games. Did great!Even though the line of boys facing the line of dads, the kids throwing to their dads wasn't always accurate. (See the dad's running all over)

Jarrod brought his balloon launcher. The balloons were cool but we had some rejected eggs (they had visible cracks that couldn't be used for egg toss). The eggs went far (if they didn't break leaving the sling. The shot below caught the egg just as it hit the backstop (see insert).

Last weekend, May 3rd & 4th, was very special. It worked out that all 3 children we are able be here this weekend. Nathan and Jennifer finished BYU and will be here for an internship with KPMG for the summer. Josh and Hayley were here the prior week for Hayley's family reunion. Alyssa and Ben were here for Alyssa's shower and a friend's wedding (Mark Shinoda).

Kayelynn began sleeping in a bed instead of a crib. She was VERY excited.

It was also close to Hayley's birthday.
Is she just too cute??!!
Early Mother's Day.
Last family dinner for a long time.

Disney with the kids

On Wed, the 30th, we went to Disneyland with Nathan and Joshua's families. It was fun. The experience is very different with a 2 year old. Katelynn had fun but wasn't yet into the Disney characters yet. Mickey scared her at first. Nathan has posted some great photos on his site.

This is photo was taken as they are being launched. Sorry Jarrod. I missed you next to Nathan.

This was more Katelynn's rollcoaster.

Behind Josh is Hayley's mom. Their family was in town for a reunion and spent several days in the park.
At the end of the day.

Jarrod won Science Fair

Jarrod entered the school science fair and went to county. (See Previous Post). He went to the awards ceremony expecting on a participation ribbon. He was completely shocked when he was first in his category.
