Jarrod Birthday and more

We have been negligent in posting so here is another catchup posting. Nathan is the best at keeping his blog current. This was Jarrod's 16th birthday. Nice jacket and received a pair of tennis shoes.

We took him for his birthday dinner with Kristy to T.G.I.F.s

This was his Halloween costume. What were they thinking back then with the mullet look?

We FINALLY finished the crown molding in the family room. It only took a year for remodel the whole thing. Not sure what her next "Honey Do" project is, but we're sure it will start just after the holidays. Probably remodeling the downstairs bath and laundry room or fixing up the halls upstairs and downstairs.

For Thanksgiving, we went to the Asplund's with Rick and Michelle's family. After we ate dinner, we went to the movie Australia. Don't waste the money at the theater. Worth renting but not worth $10 per person.

Just in case you didn't hear, Josh and Hayley have announced they are expecting their first in June. More to come on this.

Jarrod's First Date

Jarrod went to Foothill HS's homecoming dance with Christie, Adam and London. They met at Christie's for the flower pinning.

Then to a friend's house for photos

From the photos, they went to the Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney. After dinner, they went to the dance. After the dance, they played laser tag. After the laser tag, back to Christie's for waffles. He was home about 2 am. He had a good time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY, JARROD!!

Alyssa's visit

Alyssa, Ben and Bella came to visit us for Ben's dad's wedding on the 11th. Ben had to get back to school and work but Alyssa and Bella stayed until the following Saturday. It was great having them here!!

It came at a hectic time though. Sue was asked (called) to be the Relief Society President for the ward just prior to Alyssa's visit. For those not aware of Mormon culture, Relief Society is a women's organization in the Church that oversees women things in the congregation (not being a women, I don't have an active role). They assist with the physical and spiritual needs of the congregation -"Relief". I don't know the numbers but 150 to 300 women. I'm writing this a week after she's been up and running (literally). She's already made several home and hospital visits supplying spiritual, emotional and even church welfare support. Plus multiple organizational meetings. It's a large, very stressful responsiblity, but she is doing, and will do a great job.

Kate with her baby

Kate was totally cute holding her baby.

This is how Tyler looked when grandpa held him.

Kate took this one. Good photography, even for a 2 year old.

Kate at the park

We took Kate to a park near their home. It had a playground and fishing pond.

Even Sue rode to toys.

We could see the fish in the water.
There next were just too cute to not include.

We included this as a science demonstration on static electricity. You will notice Kate's hair is going wild. It's not the wind. It was the static from the slide.

It was a great time together.

Grandkids in UT - Day 2

As mentioned in the previous blog, there were too many cute photos not to post. This is Tyler. He was born on 9/4 but due on the 23rd. So when we visited him, it was at the time he would have been born. He is a little guy.

Bella is starting to laugh and smile for Alyssa

Tyler was still quite jaundice looking. We put him in the sun while there. In the photo, you can see his head is still yellow but his torso and legs are normal.
Lyssa and Bella

Katelynn loves to go to the zoo to see the ducks. There is a dispenser to buy food to feed the ducks. This requires dimes. She loves to carry the dimes in her pocket and put them in the machine. She's not really excited about feeding the ducks.

This is grandma's fault. She brought Katelynn the Minnie ears and the sucker.
