Snorkling at Turtle Bay and Hanauma Bay
It was a beautiful day to visit the Hawaii Temple and visitor's center. We watched the Joseph Smith movie. It was excellent. Very professional and well done. We were anticipating a short movie (30-45 minutes). It was about 1.5 hours.

Surfing, Jet Skiing and hiking

Thursday was did some snorkling. Then we went surfing at Halieva (sp). Or more acturately, Josh and Jarrod went surfing. Rick just paddled on the board, unable to catch a wave and realizing how old and out of shape he has gotten.
We also hiked to Waimea (sp) Falls. This is a park with beautiful vegetation from all over the world. It is beautiful with many different plants. The waterfall/pond at the end of the trail is very pretty. The TV series "Lost" is filmed in this area of the island. For those who have seen it: This waterfall and pond is where Sawyer and Kate take a swim and find a briefcase under the seat of two dead passengers.

Polynesian Cultural Center
Enjoying the Polynesian Cultural Center!! It was much larger than we expected. We anticipated spending 1 day here but ended up doing another half day. We could have done more. Thanks to Josh's friend, Maggie, for directing us to the best things to see and do. I don't think we will be performing any hula recitals anytime soon!

Rick, Jarrod & Josh
We are standing at the trail head to the blow holes. I believe that is Koko crater in the background.

Blow Hole
This is a blow hole on the southeast side of the island. Blow holes are from caves under the cliff. When the waves comes in, the force of the water in the cave is force out of a hole in the rock. In this photo, you can see it near the point. It almost looks like smoke from a fire. It's hard to get a feel on how big they are by this photo. We are standing near this hole - but Sue was so far up the cliff you can hardly see us as we are just dots.

We had a wonderful time in HI. We were able to spend the week with Josh. This is an attempt to post some of the photos we took during this time.
